Every company should try to keep the trust of its customers. If it hurts
the sentiments of the customers then it might have to deal with the backlash as
well. The results of breaking their trust can be very undesirable.
1) Credibility
The customers stop trusting your company if you do something wrong. When
customers purchase your products, they set high hopes from you. They start
trusting you and your methods of production. It's very hard to get loyal
customers, and once you get them, there are very little possibilities for
losing them. They are going to purchase your products even if your competitors
offer them products at cheaper prices. They are going to get your products
because they trust your services. So, what happens when you break the trust of
your customers. You break their trust when you decide them and you can lose
them when you break it. If you use methods that are not acceptable then how do
you accept your customers to purchase products from you? All the customers
expect the pharmaceutical businesses to produce medicines without harming the
environment in any way. And if the customers find out something against the
firm then they won't take long to boycott it. You might lose all your
customers, your image will be shattered.
2) Marketing Costs
If something like this happens then you'll have to start from the beginning
and this time the beginning is not easy. When a business starts its operations,
it has to conduct some marketing campaign to introduce the medicines in the
market, however, if it loses its image then it's hard for it to make things
better again. You might have to spend thousands or millions to ensure that your
customers are happy about your company. You will have to try aggressive
marketing techniques and spend lots of money to earn the trust of your
customers once again. You have to do all this with the hope of getting your
customers and there is no guarantee of actually getting all of them back.
